Pierce Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities

For many families, a diagnosis of a developmental disability can be life-changing. The Sharon Sigesmund Pierce and Stephen Pierce Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at Touro University Nevada is a leading resource in Nevada for families raising children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities. The state-of-the-art Center is designed for the child’s needs in mind. From the lobby with toys to occupy awaiting child or sibling to customizable treatment rooms and the large multi-use therapy room, the Center aims to put both child and family at ease while providing treatment. The Center offers services for children from 18 months to 12 years. Children can receive multiple evidence-based therapy services in one convenient location. Our Applied Behavior Analysis Therapists are dedicated to working with children in both one-on-one and group settings. Applied Behavior Analysis uses evidence-based interventions to help reduce problem behaviors, increase appropriate adaptive behaviors, and improve social skills. The Center offers pediatric Physical Therapy which promotes independence, facilitates motor development, and improves strength and endurance. Pediatric Occupational Therapy services help children improve everyday routines, activities, and play. Additionally, we utilize Pediatric Speech Language Therapy to improve communication skills in children with language and speech delays, swallowing and/or feeding disorders. Our fully licensed staff are caring, experienced clinicians who have Crisis Prevention, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator training to ensure that all children at the center are safe at all times. Our Center is also committed to being an active member in the local community by participating in events like Touro’s annual Building Blocks Party with the City of Henderson, Light It Up Blue Activities with Caesars Entertainment, Basketball Clinics with NBA Legends and Speedway Children’s Charities, and an annual season of Lights event to raise awareness and much needed funding to help families afford this much needed care. We’re thankful for the generous support of many community members who have donated to our grant program which allows families with financial need to receive additional treatments or offset the costs of the treatment. We know that behind every child with special needs is a family that’s special. You want the best for your child and so do we.
