Not A Dog Person

(laughing) (laughter) – [Asa] Say leave me alone puppy (laughing) – [Asa] Get her (laughing) – [Priscilla] Okay, okay
see if you leave her alone – [Asa] She doesn’t want to play anymore (laughing) – [Asa] Come here, come here Is she annoying Abbie? (laughter) She threw your jacket at her Where are you going? – [Inaudible] . – [Asa] Oh yeah – We’re going to get [Inaudible] – [Asa] 100% – Yup. – [Asa] Yup, thank you. – 100%? – [Asa] 100% – What does that mean? – [Asa] It means yes, A lot, yes. – [Priscilla] She’s really a good dog – [Asa] She is. For a puppy, puppy. For a baby. We’re going to go to the park everybody. They took the cart and the scooters. I got dog duty so I put them
in the back of the truck. They can run up there, just a few blocks but we’re having
leash walking challenges. ‘Cause she’s a puppy. (upbeat country music) (upbeat country music) – Are you nervous? (upbeat country music) – Oh my god (laughing) – [Asa] You like it, huh? – You could kill yourself with this thing I have to take full body
armor on this thing. I could use like a leather suit. – So we make her walk
independently with these because she will drag
and it’s not the same. – [Asa] That’s a good idea – She’ll grab your shirt sometimes and you’ll be like nope. You got it. Look at all your family (giggles) (upbeat country music) – [Phil] Isn’t this the best Ab’? Oh, watch out. (upbeat country music) – [Asa] You’re doing so good. Don’t pull. Those little legs, gonna wear out. (upbeat country music) – [Asa] I got you. (upbeat country music) – Phil and I are going to run to Lowe’s and we’re going to turn
this into a shower. To a working shower. Because it’s just silly
as it’s just a tub. That’s the project, Phil’s been excited about this project since I started talking about it, like he’s scheduled a time to come up here to work on this. So that’s what we’re doing today. (upbeat country music) (chatter) (upbeat country music) 10% off Bro’s. I said 10% off Bro’s. That discount at Lowe’s right? – Yeah, that’s why I shop here. (upbeat country music) – Change of plans. – We got a change of plans going on here. All right, so, I put the spigot on. That worked out well,
look it looks all pro, I’m surprised. (whistle) We’re just gonna run. It’s got a fitting on
the bottom, we’re gonna run a hose up with the shower, you guys don’t care about this stuff. It’s happening, we’re getting it done. Summer’s gonna have her own shower. – [Asa] You’re gaming? – Yeah – [Inaudible] Once at a time. – See? Yup, Ooh, I’m excited. (laughter) – So, everybody’s coming over. We’re gonna have a little cook-out. Be a good time. – Yeah I was tellin’ Abbie,
we had friends yesterday, family today. I love it, I love everybody comin’ over. (can cracks open) – [Asa] I’ve never actually
drank one of these you know. – Oh, Yeah. Well you’re missing out on life. – [Asa] Am I really? – Not really. – [Asa] Okay. (laughter) (chatter) – [Isaiah] It’s a experience, right? – [Asa] It’s a experience, yeah. – So, technically you are
missing out on something in life. – That’s the worst one. – [Isaiah] Is it? – Lime? I’m not a fan.
I’m not a fan of the lime. – [Isaiah] Oh, okay well. – [Summer] Do you like it? – [Isaiah] Eh, you know. – If you had nothing lime would be good. – [Asa] Yeah. – Oh you went to the dark-side. – [Asa] I went to the Claw. – Ain’t no laws when
you’re drinking Claws. (laughter) [Crosstalk] – [Phil] Here comes the claw. – [Asa] Look dad, it’s my first Claw. – Your first Claw? – [Asa] First Claw, never had one before. Dad is a Claw connoisseur. – And I don’t even buy it, I just take it. – [Asa] They call him “Boomer Claw”. (laughter) The only Boomer I know
that drinks White Claw. – Other peoples. (laughter) – [Asa] So, I don’t know
if we’ll be kennel trained. Are we gonna be kennel training her? I don’t know. – I don’t know why we would need to. – All right well right
now so that she can eat ’cause, this guy. This guy and puppy chow. – [Isaiah] He’s evil, I
walked in there and I was like “Yo, Chill!” ‘Cause the door was open. – [Asa] I mean, it’s dog
food, what do you expect? I don’t think that’s
evil, that’s puppy food. – [Isaiah] I was like
“your food’s right there.” – [Priscilla] I don’t
think she needs to be in there any other time. – [Asa] Yeah. – I don’t know. – [Asa] Maverick does well
without being kennel trained. – Right. – [Asa] We don’t have
to make him go to bed. – Thanks. – [Asa] Did you kiss the puppy? – Can you kiss the puppy? (kissing sound) Oh my goodness, you’re so sweet. – [Asa] Sweetheart, we
just had a whole dinner. A big ‘ol meal. – We just ate. – [Asa] We did. – Yes ma’am? You want me to come sit
downstairs with you? Can you carry my phone down for me? ‘Kay. – [Phil] You’re very, No no no. – Come on. – [Asa] Take it down, no. – [Asa] Gosh, don’t throw it on mom. – [Asa] Good job. – [Summer] Thanks ‘Ab. [Inaudible] (laughter) – Why do we keep doing the same move? – I don’t know. (laughter) – Speedboat! (laughter) – [Priscilla] Isaiah’s actually nervous. (laughter) – Oh, that sucked. That was a dumb move on my part. (laughter) – No! – Shield, something! Why are you so slow? – It’s like a long sword,
you know, like a knight. – Oh okay. – Now we’re knights. – Okay. – [Priscilla] Can you make the sound? – Oh, that one? Okay. (humming) – One of us has to do the (Ch) sound. No, that’s you. (humming) (clattering) (laughter) (humming) Oh no! – I’m your father. – No! (laughter) – [Summer] Wow, look at y’all. – Yup, painting the things. – [Summer] Puttin’ in work. [Inaudible] – Don’t be shy with the paint. Don’t be shy with the paint. That’s what my momma said. – [Summer] So, you’re going to paint the whole entire place? – Yup, ’cause this is the color that we have in the dinning room. So, this, it doesn’t
match perfectly in here. So, we’ll just paint the whole room. – [Summer] Is it close though? – It’s real close. Yeah, it’s real close. [Crosstalk] – Well, you’re going to have a shower curtain up so it’s not like you’re going to notice it anyway. – Well no, we’re gonna do the whole room. – [Priscilla] Oh you are? – [Asa] Yeah, makes more sense. – [Priscilla] No. – What? – No – [Asa] No, what? – It doesn’t. – [Asa] Why doesn’t it make sense? – ‘Cause I don’t want it all paint. – It’s not sticking to
this silicone at all. – You gotta let it dry. – Let what dry? Silicone is dry. – [Summer] So maybe we’re
not painting the room. (laughs) – I mean, we still gon’
paint it but, this. I can’t cover this up. That edge right there,
I can’t cover that up. Oh! I got it. Ah-ha! (laughter) We’ll do a tape-line, along
here, and then do more caulking. And then pull the tape so we
got a nice clean white line. – [Asa] What do you think? – [Priscilla] Oh yeah. Did we do good? – [Priscilla] You did good. – [Asa] Thanks. – [Phil] Right? – [Asa] Yup, I mean it was
great before, it’s great now. But the idea is that we’re sealing it. – [Priscilla] Right. – [Asa] All new caulking,
sealing it all up. High quality water-shedding paint. – [Phil] And you know you just gotta keep an eye on it dude for
the time that she uses it. You know, keep an eye on the wall. – [Asa] Yeah. – [Phil] If you see that
it starts to peel away. – [Isaiah] Trust me, dad notices all. – [Summer] Hear what? – [Phil] She can take the garbage out. – [Asa] Oh, yeah yeah yeah. If the wallpaper starts to
peel, it’d be a good sign. – That’d be a good sign, yeah. – [Priscilla] Just let
us know if the wallpaper starts to peel. – [Asa] Hey but you know what? If it doesn’t work, you know what the worst-case scenario is? It gets in the wall and
we cut the wall out anyway and put green board in there and just do what we’re gonna do. – And we could get rid
of the whole bathtub and just make it a shower. – [Asa] Yeah. – Good point, yeah. – [Asa] We weren’t going
that far with it but. – But I mean that would be nice. – [Phil] So, we’re doing it in baby-steps. – [Asa] Yeah. – It smells like you burnt the pie. – [Asa] Huh? – It smells like you burnt the pie. – [Asa] I don’t know what
you’re talking about. (laughs) – [Woman] Oh you did. (laughter) – [Asa] No, it’s just that the
edges are a little blackened. – [Priscilla] Oh my God. – [Asa] Just eat around,
just eat from the middle. – You ruined the pie that I made. – [Asa] Just eat around the middle. Oh man, I wasted like half a Claw. (singing) It wasn’t my jam. – That’s okay, the lime’s not good. – [Asa] How’s puppy life going? It’s great, it’s great. Just sewing it back. Look at us, cutting,
rolling, whip-stitching. – Yeah. – [Asa] All the things. – [Phil] Yeah, you do it all man. – [Asa] I didn’t do it
all, you did half of it. (laughter) I mean, not the pillow, but the paint. Hey, ready for bed? It’s time for bed. It is. Let’s go upstairs. I’ll tuck you in. Come on. – [Phil] Night Ab. – [Asa] Say night. – [Phil] Love ya beb. Goodnight. (clattering) – I will lay down with you like we do. So we’ve had a pretty
good run of going to bed and going to sleep. Within a reasonable amount of time when I lay down with her. Here, go to the bathroom first. And it’s really helped. So, she’s falling asleep,
she’s stayed asleep. And then the slight changes
that we made with meds have been productive. – [Asa] Look at ya’ll, relaxing
on a Saturday afternoon. – Saturday afternoon? – [Asa] What is today? – It’s 7:30, at night. – Well it kinda feels like afternoon. – Ab’s sleeping? – [Asa] That’s working
really, really well. – Yeah? – [Asa] The slight med change
and then lay down with her. So, she coo’s for a little while, she tries to play. She pokes my nose, she boops me. (laughter) A lot, but, you know. – But, honestly though, when
I try to lay down with her it gets her all wound up. – [Asa] Yeah, that doesn’t work. – Yeah I don’t think she’d
lay down with me either. – [Asa] Yeah, she doesn’t
lay down with Summer either. – It’s laying down with you,
you’re the calming factor. – I’m authoritative. – [Priscilla] Yes. – She lays down when
I tell to lay down so, it just works. I’m happy with it, you know. I’ll go on TicTok, put on my ear-pods, go on TicTok watch a
YouTube video, whatever. Just lay there, it’s perfect. – Good. It’s reassurance
for her too, like, nothing’s going on that
I wanna be a part of. – [Asa] Right, not missing
anything, it’s boring I’ll just go to sleep. Working so well. – [Asa] Okay so all we gotta do, oh, it looks good in here. Yeah, looks good. All we gotta do is put
the shower curtain back up and put the head on tomorrow. And you’ll have a shower down here Sum’. – [Summer] I’m so excited! – [Asa] Hey Phil, thanks
for your help man, appreciate you. – No problem brother. Rock-n-roll. – [Asa] Say ‘Bye’. – All right. Bye-bye. (laughter) – Why is this so funny to you? (laughter) – [Asa] He’s so close, eh? (laughter) – It’s so hard because
I know I can’t do it. (laughter) – [Priscilla] I’m gonna pee my pants. (laughter) – [Priscilla] It’s crazy how
close you are for real though. (laughter) – Oh! I can’t touch it! (laughter) I’m so mad.

  3. As a veterinary Technician Iโ€™m telling you out of love that it is SO important to wait till your pup has itโ€™s shots go take her out in public! Sweet, adorable pup, please take care of of her !

  4. Iโ€™d recommend create training the new puppy , if you ever board her while you go on vacation or if she needs to stay over night at a vet , being used to the create will help her not be so stressed out and not cause problems for employees.

  5. When yโ€™all were painting I thought he was going to say โ€œdonโ€™t be shy put some moreโ€ like from tiktok lol

  6. I enjoy watching Phil trying to jump and touch the ceiling, almost got it!! Also happy Abbie is sleeping better too!! Your pup is adorable!!!

  7. I love the "sword" play. It reminds me of my hubby and son whenever they get the chance to play. Phil did better than I ever could at trying to reach the ceiling. Being vertically challenged is hard sometimes. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Thank u guys for sharing your world with us all. Your daily dose of positivity, strength as a whole family and perserverance brighten my days and renew my faith in humanity.

  9. My dog was never kennel trained and everyone acts like itโ€™s the worst thing you could do to them. My dog did fabulous and has free range of the house all day every day. I donโ€™t think he missed out not being kennel trained. Every dogs different. My dog was never meant for one ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. The disturbing odd future playin on the TV in the beginning ๐Ÿ˜‚ if you know YOU KNOW… ๐Ÿช‘ and summer you need to try PRESS sparkling… wayyyyyy better flavors. We need for summer giggle moments like the end!! ๐Ÿคช

  14. I love dogs, except for the ones in Asia that chase me because I carry my white cane. They think Iโ€™m going to hit them. I have a friend who is deaf blind though, and sheโ€™s very afraid of them. I did have a guide dog at one point, but I wouldnโ€™t consider getting another one. They are not for everybody, and I prefer to use my cane. With other animals, I can get quite scared though because I just donโ€™t know how theyโ€™re going to react. Cats can really freak me out, because I have been scratched too many times. And Iโ€™m terrified of any kind of bird.

  15. I didn't read 400+ reactions… But did anyone said something about the fact that this channel needs 15.000 subs before it hits half a million?! Oh my gosh ๐Ÿ’ƒ
I found your channel about 3 or 4 weeks ago and I saw the channel grow almost each day with 1k subs..
You deserve it and much more โค๏ธ
I love the vlogs.. They give me the oppertunity to see a glimpse of your day at the other side of the ocean!
Thank you for that and keep spreading the awareness and love ๐Ÿ’ž

  16. Personally kennel training is great, both mine are kennel trained so if they need to stay at the vets they are used to it and it's a safe place, also great for sending them to calm down if they get a little too much, but never as a punishment, also the only other thing i would say is i found for my two using a Y front harness was much better and easier to teach them to walk on a leash โ™ฅ

  17. I watch Fathering Autism and laugh and smile. I start talking about it to someone and end up a blubbering mess trying to convey how much each episode affected me. I live through each emotion like it was my child. The happiness, the concern, the pride, the frustrations. I love it!! I truly cannot feel what you guys feel. I know what I would feel like in each situation. I love you all!!!

  18. Kernel training works I have done it with my old dog until he was a little older n did with my puppy until he was about 10month old n he likes it when he needs go in
That if my puppy all day lol ๐Ÿ˜‚

  19. This vlog made me really think about my family, especially when you ran into your dad at the hardware store, my dad is always doing projects on his house and I can just imagine seeing him there. Miss my family so much when Iโ€™m at college ๐Ÿ™

  20. Aw showed this video to my son who has autism, and he pointed at Abbie and said โ€œnyeh nyehโ€ which means pretty, cute girl! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

  21. You guys sure do have some awesome people in your life! It's nice to see! Also am I the only person who likes the video before I've even watched it?

  22. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ 6:18 When Phil tells Abby "no they just ate", it totally looks like Abby turns to Summer and is like "Can you believe this guy…" that cracked me up

  23. I have a question, now I just started watching and I was wondering about how she is non verbal, does that mean she canโ€™t talk, or is it because of autism she doesnโ€™t talk but she is able to?

  24. Wow, that interaction between Abbie and Summer at 6:20 is perfect evidence that Abbie can and does communicate even if she's nonverbal. Awesome stuff.

  25. I grew up in a very small town. There was a coffee shop and a liquor store side by side. Everyone called it Drunken Doughnuts.

  26. I work in large (in size) dog & cat hospital on my breaks from college. It is easy to tell which dogs have been kennel train. They are less stressed and also don't go to the bathroom in their kennels (dogs are taken outside very frequently) as often as dogs that aren't kennel trained. Also even though you want to socialize Sandy, it's best to keep her in controlled environments until she is fully vaccinated. So keep her at your house but you can have friends bring over their own fully vaccinated, healthy dogs. That way you know your puppy is only having contact with healthy dogs. Puppies can still get sick being near sick dogs or in the same place.

  27. To be safe, one shouldnโ€™t take puppies into public until they are fully vaccinated. That typically occurs at 4 months.
